Data Security and Community Privacy

Hosting

Blogtronix Enterprise can be hosted on dedicated servers, clouds or behind the firewall for optimal corporate security and compliance.

Blogtronix SaaS installations (shared or dedicated servers) are hosted by Rackspace Hosting, Inc, one of the most trusted names in cloud server hosting. Blogtronix installations can be hosted on shared or dedicated servers. To read more about their physical security; operational security; and system security, click here: Rackspace Security Approach

Authentication

SSL/HTTPS

Blogtronix customers who wish to use a secure connection can purchase a SSL certificate which our technical team will install. SSL certificates can be purchased from various web security companies such as Verisign, GoDaddy, and more.

Single Sign-on

Blogtronix communities can be integrated with your existing SSO using SAML 1.1/2.0.

Active Directory/LDAP

Blogtronix supports LDAP authentication and Blogtronix community administrators can map LDAP/Active Directory attributes directly to the dynamic user profile.

User Passwords

Administrators can choose one of four password strength settings: Not Checked, Letters and Digits, Mixed Case Letters and Digits, or Mixed Case Letters, Digits and Special Symbols.

User passwords are strongly encrypted in the database using a “salted” hash algorithm. Passwords imported from LDAP are not stored.

Access Control

Registration Approval

Blogtronix administrators have complete control over who can register for the community. You can choose to approve every registration manually, or blacklist/whitelist certain e-mail domains.

Removing Existing Users

Blogtronix administrators can easily suspend or delete users at any time.

Data

Storage

Every Blogtronix community not only uses a separate database, but is a totally separate software installation, making it impossible for information in your community to be open to other Blogtronix clients.

Ownership

Blogtronix customers always own all of their data, which can easily be exported and analyzed. Thanks to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, Blogtronix cannot be forced to surrender content from any Blogtronix community hosted in the United States to any third-party except for government entities.

Export

Blogtronix administrators can export community data using the database backup or standard document formats such as .csv or .xls

Backup/Restore

Along with industry-leading security practices, Rackspace offers “Unmetered” Managed backup. Blogtronix installations are backed up daily and, in the event of a data loss, can easily be restored. To read more about Rackspace’s backup systems, click here: Managed Backup

User Privileges

Rights and Permissions

Blogtronix community administrators are able to assign each user specific privileges in specific groups to ensure that they only see the information that is relevant to them.

User Profiles

Every user in the system can indicate who can see their activities. For each field in the user profile, users can indicate what segment of the community can see that information.

Inappropriate Content

Blogtronix communities come standard with compliance tools like prohibited words, keyword monitoring, abuse flagging, and more.

Testing

How often is Blogtronix tested?

Blogtronix is constantly testing the function and security of our software during development and internal use, and each client installation is tested for vulnerabilities before launch.
